D8, D8 Plus and C1 electric chain hoists/systems fall within the scope of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/ EG. According to the Directive, a D8 or D8 Plus electric chain hoist/system may only be brought onto the EU Market or put into service if it corresponds in full with the provisions of all currently applicable guidelines and if the conformity assessment has been carried out in accordance with all applicable guidelines. An important part of the conformity assessment is the risk assessment. This must currently be carried out in accordance with the harmonized European standard EN ISO 12100:2010. The manufacturer/distributor must draw up a CE declaration of conformity and affix the CE mark to the product. The CE mark confirms that the “fundamental (safety) requirements” set out in EU guidelines have been complied with in full. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer/distributor of a technical product/system to ascertain which EU guidelines are applicable to the product/system in point. |
